The everyday faces that you will see in Phuket can be seen in this video. It’s genius and funny how it captured the feelings of being serious, awkward, embarrass, shy, and then the smile and there’s laughter. In general people in Phuket are very pleasant and friendly especially the real locals. You may see some aggressive ones occasionally if you will go to crowded or tourist areas like Patong. But as long as you smile, they’d smile back. 😉

The majority of the population in Phuket is Buddhist, but there is a significant number of Muslims, mainly descendants of the island’s original sea-dwelling people, which among them are of Malay descent. There are also people of Chinese ancestry that make up an even larger populace. Many of them descended from tin miners who migrated to Phuket during the 19th century.

Today, Phuket is becoming international in the sense that you will see locals and immigrants in different nationalities and colors. Those who visited the island and decided to come back and settle down, and those who have seen opportunities to retire, live, get married, and even conduct business is one of the many kinds.
